From fresh grounds to K-Cups , the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew 2-Way Coffee Maker gives you the options to please fans of all types of coffees and quantities. Brew a full pot using your favorite grounds on the carafe side, or make a cup for yourself using a K-cup or grounds on the single-serve side.

Each side has an easy-fill water reservoir with separate windows, so there’s never any confusion or over-filling. You can also choose between regular or bold brew strength on both sides. The full-pot side brews up to 12 cups of coffee using grounds. It includes a programmable clock with 2-hour keep warm cycle and automatic shutoff, automatic pause and serve. The single-serve side can brew up to 10 oz. with a K-cup pack, or 14 oz. travel mug with grounds. A removable cup rest doubles as a storage container for single-serve packs or to hold the brew basket.

HOW TO BREW A SINGLE CUP OF COFFEE USING SINGLE-SERVE PACKS

• Press the single-serve button, then lift the lid latch until the lid clicks open.
• Be sure the funnel is in place, then place a single-serve pack into the removable single-serve pack holder in the funnel. Close the lid, pressing firmly to pierce the single-serve pack.
• Lift the single-serve water reservoir lid, fill your mug with water (MAX of 10 oz. for single-serve packs), and add the water to the reservoir.
• Close the lid, then press the BREW STRENGTH button to select regular or bold.
• Press the BREW NOW button to start brewing. The coffee maker will automatically shut off when brewing is complete.
• Test Kitchen Tip: Remove the cup rest when brewing for a travel mug.

HOW TO BREW A SINGLE CUP OF COFFEE USING GROUND COFFEE

• Press the single-serve button, then lift the lid latch until the lid clicks open.
• Be sure the funnel is in place, then add ground coffee to the brown removable brew basket (3 TBSP MAX). Place the brew basket into the funnel, then close the lid firmly.
• Fill the water reservoir (MAX of 14 oz. for ground coffee).
• Press the BREW NOW button to start brewing. The coffee maker will automatically shut off when brewing is complete.

HOW TO BREW A FULL POT OF COFFEE

• Press the carafe button, then lift the lid and remove the brew basket.
• Place a paper coffee filter into the brew basket. For each cup of coffee being made, place one level tablespoon of grounds into the filter.
• Put the brew basket back into the brew basket holder, then fill the carafe with up to 12 cups of cold water and pour into the carafe water reservoir.
• Place the carafe, with the carafe lid attached, on the warming plate.
• Press the BREW STRENGTH button to change the strength to BOLD.
• Press the BREW NOW button to start brewing. The brew indicator light will light up to show the coffee maker is on.
• The Automatic Shutoff feature shuts off the coffee maker two hours after the brew cycle starts.
• Test Kitchen Tip: To serve coffee while still brewing on the carafe side, remove the carafe and pour a cup. By removing the carafe, the flow of coffee will stop until the carafe is replaced. Be sure to replace the carafe within 20 seconds of being removed to prevent overflow.

TEST KITCHEN TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST-TASTING COFFEE

• All coffees are made from either arabica beans or robusta beans, or some combination of both. Arabica beans are slightly more expensive, but tend to product a better-tasting coffee.
• Ground coffee will become stale much faster than whole beans. If buying preground coffee, choose a package with the latest expiration date or a smaller quantity.
• Use approximately 1 TBSP of grounds for each cup of coffee being made. To avoid overflow, use 3/4 TBSP when brewing decaf or flavored coffees.
